Weak One

I'm a little slow posting this week after Daytona. Maybe that's because there didn't seem to be a lot notable about this year's Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing. Congratulations to Jeff Gordon, I guess. I have never been a big fan of his, but it was somewhat refreshing to see someone other than a DEI car win a restrictor plate race.

I'm looking forward to the Fontana race this week. I hear this track and Michigan often maligned by the old guard for being boring. On the contrary, I think the races at Michigan and California are great. There are a lot of different lines around these tracks, and I think it makes for great competition. Too bad, the forgotten sister of Michigan, Texas World Speedway here in my town of College Station Texas, never stayed on the NASCAR circuit. It would be nice to go to a race right down the road.

Unfortunately for California, there are already hints on jayski.com that they could lose their second date back to Darlington. I'd love to see that.

I got linked to this week. Thanks to the guys over at http://cranialcavity.net/fullthrottle/wp/index.php
for giving me some pub. Hopefully, I'll write something worth reading.

I also realized this week that AGGIE is in our title. Sadly, we hardly ever discuss Aggie things here. Maybe I'll find a way to make it fit on a slow week this year. Possible topics include, "Is Richard Childress becoming the R.C. Slocum of NASCAR?" and "Comparisons between the Aggie Bonfire tragedy and NASCAR's lackadaisical attitude toward safety."

Suggestions are welcome.
