I liked this Mexico Busch race even if David Poole didn't

David Poole had some commentary on the race in Mexico this past weekend.

You'll have to go through several layers of registration to read this article, unfortunately. (Stupid internet. It's all about the money, isn't it?)

Anyway, I personally found this race somewhat refreshing. It wasn't the same old soap opera this week about aero-push and loose in/tight off. Heaven forbid the bucolic and stagnant leadership of NASCAR ask anyone to turn right. And Brian France be damned for experimenting in new ways to improve his business model.

Sure, the racing left a little to be desired. Than again, if some of the Cup regulars would actually put out some effort into learning how to road race, we wouldn't have Ron Fellows crossing the north border to kick their asses on road courses each year.

And sure, we're all nostalgic for Rockingham and North Wilkesboro. Some are nostalgic for Riverside, CA too. Those tracks didn't fall by the wayside because they were great racing. They fell behind because fewer fans were going to the races. If the racing was good, perhaps they would have as many seats as Bristol.

It's all about market saturation, and Brian France isn't running NASCAR as a charity for deadass southeasterners.
